PrLZ regulates EMT and invasion in prostate cancer via the TGF‐β1/p‐smad2/miR‐200 family/ZEB1 axis - Xie - The Prostate - Wiley Online Library Hongjun Xie PhD ,  Jiaqi Chen PhD ,  Zhenkun Ma PhD ,  Yang Gao PhD ,  Jin Zeng PhD ,  Yule Chen PhD ,  Zhao Yang PhD ,  Shan Xu PhD First published: 25 December 2023 https://doi.org/10.1002/pros.24647 Abstract Background Prostate leucine zipper (PrLZ) is a prostate-specific protein, and our previous study demonstrated that PrLZ enhances the malignant progression of prostate cancer (Pca). However, the roles of PrLZ in epithelial to mesenchymal transition (EMT) remain unknown. Methods Quantitative real-time PCR (qRT-PCR), immunohistochemical (IHC) ...

Prostate-Specific Antigen Response to Androgen Deprivation Therapy in the Neoadjuvant Setting for High-risk Prostate Adenocarcinoma (PIRANHA): Pooled Analysis of Two Randomized Clinical Trials - ScienceDirect

Prostate-Specific Antigen Response to Androgen Deprivation Therapy in the Neoadjuvant Setting for High-risk Prostate Adenocarcinoma (PIRANHA): Pooled Analysis of Two Randomized Clinical Trials - ScienceDirect :  sciencedirect.com  , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , https://doi.org/10.1016/j.ijrobp.2023.12.022 Abstract Purpose A suboptimal prostate-specific antigen (PSA) response to neoadjuvant androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) among men who go on to receive definitive radiotherapy for prostate cancer might suggest the existence of castration-resistant disease or altered androgen receptor (AR) signaling. This in turn may portend worse long-term clinical outcomes, especially in men with high-risk disease. We set out to evaluate the prognostic impact of poor PSA response to neoadjuvant ADT in men with high-risk prostate cancer. Methods and Materials This was a post hoc analysis of the multicenter TROG 03.04 RADAR and PCS IV randomized...

Long term results of a phase I dose escalation trial of ablative stereotactic body radiation therapy - International Journal of Radiation Oncology, Biology, Physics

Long term results of a phase I dose escalation trial of ablative stereotactic body radiation therapy - International Journal of Radiation Oncology, Biology, Physics redjournal.org Abstract Stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) is increasingly used for oligometastatic disease as well as palliation, but treatment protocols for non-spine bone and nodal metastases are lacking, with a wide variety of schedules applied. Therefore, a prospective dose-escalation trial was initiated, involving 90 patients, among whom 52 (58%) had primary prostate tumors, 13 had breast tumors (14%), and 25 (28%) had other primary tumor types.  All visible lymph node and/or non-spine bone oligometastases were treated in three consecutive cohorts: 5×7.0 Gy, 3×10.0 Gy, or 1×20.0 Gy. Initial results revealed no dose-limiting toxicity after a median follow-up of 17.2 months. This ...

Co-deletion of RB and p53 is common in castration resistant prostate cancers, however they are difficult to target pharmacologically.  To comprehensively identify gene loss events that contribute to enzalutamide response, we performed a genome-wide CRISPR knockout screen in LNCaP prostate cancer cells. This revealed novel genes implicated in resistance that are largely unstudied. Gene loss events that confer enzalutamide sensitivity are en...
